FAQs

I'm sure you've got a lot of questions; if there's anything I haven't included here please reach out to me!

Q: Will we be able to take our painting home the night of our wedding?
A: I will be working on location at your wedding, but I will not be finishing your painting on location. My goal it to make your painting a timeless piece of art, which means it takes time. After I am finished painting at your wedding I will take it back to my studio to work on for another 20-30 hrs. Since I work in oils it takes about 3-5 months for the oils to cure, after which time I will seal the canvas in order to protect it for generations to come.

Q: Who will be in the painting?
A: I like to focus on the bride and groom; this allows for much greater attention to detail. However, if you are determined to add more people into your painting I am open to the idea, we would just need to discuss the details far before the wedding date to make sure I can give you the painting you've been dreaming of.

Q: Will you travel for my wedding?
A: I prefer to stay within two hours of my home of Bucks County PA, but I am willing to travel, including internationally, depending upon the location, as long as flights and accommodations are covered.

Q: How much control do we have over what our painting will look like?
A: A good deal! Once you've looked at my portfolio and have decided you like my general style and have booked me to paint on your special day we will go over the details of your painting.  At least 2 weeks before the wedding we will go over these details:
During which part of your wedding do you want the painting to be from? (First look, first kiss, first dance, something else ? )
Where exactly will the painting scene be (this is an especially important one, as I will be painting the background before you even get there)
What style are you looking for? I love to incorporate a sense of whimsy, so let me know if you'd like me to move in that direction, or if you're looking for something else.

Q: Someone in our wedding has a sensitivity to smells, if we really want an oil painting what can we do?
If you are hoping for an oil painting, but are concerned someone may have a hard time with the fumes I could solely use acrylics while I am at the venue.
There will still be plenty of time for me to finish your painting in oils once I take it back to my studio, and the acrylics give the painting a very nice foundation to add upon.

Q: What do we need to provide for you to be able to paint?
A: I will need a 5x5' area in a temperature controlled room with a power outlet available, and running water not too far away. I will also need food and drinks (if you're serving wine I'm a white wine kind of girl!)

Q: Do you need access to the venue beforehand?
A: Yes please! This will depend upon where your wedding is taking place- if the venue is within driving distance I would like to meet up with you around two weeks before the wedding in order to go over details. If I am flying in for the wedding I would need to go to the venue the day before the wedding in order to finalize details.

Q: How do we book with you?
A: Send me a message through my "Contact" page. Once we've gone over all of your questions and concerns for the big day and I have determined your date is available you'll need to put down a $500 retainer fee for your wedding date to be reserved.

Q: Why should we have a live wedding painter?
The especially cool part about my job is that I not only get to make a beautiful family heirloom, but you and your guests will also get to experience the process of watching it come to life. Guests are not only welcome to watch my process, but ask questions and interact with me along the way.

Q: What if we don't like our painting?
A:  I will work with you along the way to ensure you are in love with your painting.
